The Lāna`i Community Health Center’s mission is to take care of the community of Lāna`i by directly providing health services (primary care, dental, and behavioral health) to the community; providing activities and services through partnerships with local organizations as well as the many off-island organizations reaching out to Lāna`i by serving as coordinator, advocate, resource, initiator, and convener; and working collaboratively to provide space for partners who can provide needed services for Lāna`i. LCHC achieves this with a focus on physical, mental, emotional, intellectual and spiritual welfare and by enriching and empowering lives to help build healthy families in a supportive environment.

LCHC's population consists of everyone on Lāna`i with a special focus on those who live below 200% of the federal poverty level—nearly 40% of the island’s population, or 1,288 individuals. No one is turned away because they lack money. LCHC serves individuals of all ages, ethnicity, gender, and residency — old timers, part-timers, and newcomers. LCHC accepts all insurances and assists its patients with understanding and navigating their insurance coverage questions. Services are currently provided out of a three bedroom house that has been converted into temporary clinical space. It is centrally located at 478 Lauhala Place in Lāna`i City where 95% of the population resides. LCHC is a A 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with 330e status awarded in September 2007. Clinical services have been provided since August 2008.
